"Finish this..."

It is not even possible that another week has passed and it is Wednesday and time to "Finish this..." Ever since graduating from college the days have been going by so quickly, it will be the new year and I'm sitting here still thinking (or maybe hoping) that is was still June. That makes me feel so old but life is rushing by, so much has changed and so much is still changing. Thanks to the lovely Kristin Baione (http://faithfulelephant.com/2014/12/10/finish-this-week-49/) I actually remembered to take a minute and write this post. So here it is...

1.) My ideal winter weekend is... on vacation, on a beach, somewhere tropical. Yes, it is true, winter is not my season. I am a summer baby and would much rather be on a beach with the sand between my toes then layered up making snow angels. It may be because I never learned how to ski or snowboard, so maybe I'd appreciate the cold a little more but for now, I would much rather be in my bathing suit, sipping a mimosa on the beach somewhere Sunny and 75 (favorite song lyric).

However, if I had to plan an ideal winter weekend it would consist of being with my favorite people playing board games and baking cookies. One the greatest snow weekends of my life was when myself, my ex boyfriend and a friend piled in the truck and drifted the Chevy in the Sams Club parking lot (I know it doesn't get much more redneck then that but don't knock it, until you try it). It was so much fun because no one else was dumb enough to go out on the road and we had a blast. And then we did one of my other favorite activities- drink beer and ate pizza.

2.) My Favorite Song lyric... this is simply impossible. I love music and I love lyrics. I love that they can speak to everyone, anywhere. Music has a way of reminding of us of memories in ways that nothing else can and I love that. People relate to lyrics in different ways, I can listen to a song and cling to certain words, where the person in the car with me is clinging to another part. I could write my biography all with song lyrics, I cant imagine just picking one phrase or lyric.

3.) I smile because... I am so blessed. The past two years have been tough, there have been too many people that have tried to take my smile away and I will admit at times they have succeeded. I have cried more in these two years than I cared to cry in a life time. But I can truly say that I can smile today because of the tears I have cried. I am grateful for the lessons and I am learning from the pain. I smile because I have amazing friends that go through the trenches with me and help me find peace. I smile because I have the most wonderful family on this planet. I smile because I have been saved my Gods grace, when I didn't deserve his love. My faith has been beaten down a time or two but I smile because I came back stronger. I have so many reasons to smile and in the words of Buddy, The Elf: "I just like to smile, smiling is my favorite."

Until next time... Smile and embrace your perfectly imperfect life.
